How to Support BWT

BWT Volunteers are making a short video about the work of the trust, and volunteers have ICT equipment to enable presentations to any local organisations who wish to know more. For further details please contact the Life President.

Support as a Friend. BWT have over 1130 Friends households including over 340 life memberships. Friends are kept in touch with regular newsletters, and can elect up to three members of the management committee. The annual subscription is £5, and a there is a printable application form on the Friends Page. Alternatively, contact the Membership Secretary or pick up a leaflet from the boxes at entrances to the site.

Support with Practical Help Help on the land by joining our maintenance volunteers whose work is of crucial value to keep running costs low. Dates and times of workparties are given on the Workparties Page. If you cannot commit to being a regular outdoor volunteer, keep an eye on this website for special "one off" projects which need extra help. Or support by helping with some of the many other voluntary tasks needed to run any large organisation with meetings, newsletters, deliveries and other activities. Offers of help will be welcomed by the Deputy Chairman.

In 2009 "the enormous volunteer effort in the Trust, together with great community involvement and access for all" were the reasons why BWT won the Outdoor Recreation section of the annual Biffawards and then went forward to win outright Best Entry for all Categories!

BWT Treasurer Bernard Head represented BWT at the award ceremony in Harrogate in October with his wife Helen, and they brought back two trophies and congratulations to pass on to everyone who had contributed to such a satisfying result.

Support by sponsoring a Tree or a Bench. Fewer are needed now than at the beginning, but see more information about sponsoring on the Trees Page or on the Features Page. BWT keep a full inventory plan of all sponsored trees and benches. To consult it, please contact the Sponsorship Organiser

Support by buying Notelets or a Souvenir Print. Local artist Robert Ward has given BWT eight landscape paintings. Four have been made into notelets and all eight are available as prints in two sizes. Read more about them on the Souvenirs Page

Support with a bequest in your will. There is no inheritance tax to pay on gifts to a charity, and it is quite simple to add a codicil to an existing will. The process is very simple. The wording recommended for a will bequest is "The Bearsted Woodland Charitable Trust (RCN 1103585), 6 Clarendon Close, Bearsted Kent ME14 4JD. Alternatively contact the BWT Treasurer who will be happy to give further advice.

BWT is very grateful for the generous grants and gifts from charities and individuals listed on the Grants and Gifts Page

And last but NOT least:-

BWT thanks their loyal volunteer team who deliver to over 1,000 homes!
