Volunteers return to maintenance duties at BWT

Following the Prime Minister's announcement of a road map back to normality and the continuing fall in Covid infection figures, maintenance teams will begin a phased return to outdoor work at Bearsted Woodland Trust (BWT) from March 2.

Voluntary work is permitted under existing lockdown rules and the teams on site will maintain the safety and distancing protocols introduced in 2020.

BWT Co-chair John Wale said: ‘On the basis of downward Covid figures in the Maidstone area and the vaccination of nearly all of our workforce, together with our continuing adherence to safety protocols for working outside, our Management Committee feels a return to work is realistic.’

The volunteer teams will return to BWT in good time to begin the important Spring/Summer maintenance regime.
