Some new picnic tables have recently been set up in the Main field, some near the playground.

Weather was against us when we tried to share our land with the Stroke Association om Sunday 5th March - heavy rain made it too wet for runners to complete the course safely, and it had to be called off. Some of the spectators agreed that the puddles were too big.

Many thanks to everyone who turned up to help, but ended up going home again rather damp!

In May 2016 Steve Andrews, who carved the birds and animals on our turkey oak, returned to carve the ash tree that snapped in a recent storm.

With a green man and, on the other side, a seat.

Woodlander No.29 was delivered to members in late May, and it will be posted on this website soon.

The committee have decided that plaques for trees will be changed from labels on posts to new ones fixed to the tree itself. This makes grass cutting under a tree much easier, and removes damp and rotting posts. It can only be done when the trunk has a diameter of approximately 8 inches, so the new scheme has been started in Oak Avenue. You will see more and more of the new plaques as time goes on.

We commissioned woodland sculpture by Steve Andrews in memory of Bernard Head, Trustee and Honorary Treasurer of BWT since its inception, who sadly died in July and is greatly missed. Read more ...

Bernard also made great contributions to other local organisations including Rotary, the Church, Roseacre School, the Tennis Club and the Golf Club. Despite the difficulties of coping with Motor Neurone Disease, his brain remained razor sharp, and he continued to act as our Treasurer until just before his death.
